Romania on Tuesday hit a new record high for daily COVID-19 cases with 40,018 cases reported in the past 24 hours. Ninety-five COVID-19 related deaths were also reported. Over 900 COVID-19 infected people on Monday were in intensive care units, with government data showing 84% of them being unvaccinated. Around 41% of Romania's 20 million population is fully vaccinated.
