Researchers in Australia have created a porous roof coating that draws water from the atmosphere and passively cools surfaces by up to 6°C. Reflecting 96% of solar radiation and emitting heat efficiently into space, the coating demonstrates passive radiative cooling. The coating, simple to install on existing roofs, provides a sustainable solution for heat and water problems in harsh climates.
