Former England captain Joe Root removed his helmet and wore a headband to dedicate his 39th Test hundred to late England batting coach Graham Thorpe. Root scored the ton on Day 4 of The Oval Test against India on Sunday. Thorpe passed away in 2024 after being struck by a train, with a coroner ruling his death a suicide.
