short by Bhuvnesh Ojha / on Friday, 15 May, 2026
A row erupted after newly-installed nameplates outside rooms and offices at Panjab University's University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) featured Hindi, English and Braille, but not Punjabi language. Members of student organisation SATH blackened several signboards in protest. AAP MP Malvinder Kang wrote to Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, urging restoration of Punjabi on campus signage.
