Russia and Ukraine blamed each other for continued fighting during Russia’s three-day ceasefire from May 7 to May 10. Russia said its troops only responded to Ukrainian attacks and claimed Ukraine tried four times to cross the border. Ukraine called the ceasefire a "farce" and said Russia kept attacking. Russia's defence ministry insisted that it stuck to the 72-hour truce.
