Russia and Ukraine each exchanged 205 prisoners of war on Tuesday, Russia’s Defence Ministry said. The swap of war prisoners was brokered by the UAE. After the exchange, the Russian soldiers were taken to Belarus, Moscow’s ally, for medical treatment, the ministry added. The last prisoner exchange took place in April, when 246 prisoners were released by each side.
