Russia offers India a new Su-30 engine

On the sidelines of the BRICS summit and bilateral defence talks, Russia has once again offered India its Izdeliye-177S engine to power upgraded Su-30MKI fighters, placing propulsion firmly at the heart of the Super Sukhoi discussions. The current AL-31FP engine delivers 123 kN afterburner and 76 kN dry thrust, with its service life recently extended to 2,500 hours.
