Russia’s only political party opposing Ukraine war banned from Sept polls

Russia’s Supreme Court has banned Yabloko, the only political party opposing Russia’s war with Ukraine, from contesting the parliamentary elections in September 2026. After the verdict was announced, videos emerged showing people outside the court chanting, “Shame! Shame!” The party, led by Nikolai Rybakov, faced allegations of undeclared funding and breaches of campaigning rules.
