Russia's Shiveluch Volcano erupts, sends 10 km-high ash plumes
The Shiveluch Volcano in Russia's Far East erupted, sending ash plumes 10 km into the air and triggering red-level aviation alerts for the area, reports said. A video posted on social media shows a massive plume of smoke and ash rising into the sky. The volcano, one of the most active on the Kamchatka peninsula, has seen several major eruptions.
