Russia to build two nuclear reactors in Hungary

The Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority has issued a permit for the expansion of its Paks nuclear power plant. The reactors will be built by Russia's Rosatom under a 2014 deal signed between Budapest and Moscow. Russia's nuclear industry has not been subjected to European Union sanctions over the Ukraine war. The Paks site currently generates 40% of Hungary's electricity supply.
