Russian billionaires Mikhail Fridman and Petr Aven have won their appeal against sanctions imposed on them by the European Council after Russia invaded Ukraine. The European Union's Court of Justice annulled the sanctions citing insufficient evidence to prove the men financially backed the Russian politicians responsible for Ukraine's destabilisation. Their funds were frozen after the sanctions.
