Russian dissident Alexei Navalny's daughter Daria received Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought on his behalf, which was presented by European Parliament. Navalny, who is touted to be one of the biggest critics of President Vladimir Putin, is currently imprisoned in Russia. He received the merit, which is EU’s top award for human rights, in recognition of his anti-corruption stance.
