Russian Grandmaster Sergey Karjakin has been banned from competition for six months by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) over his pro-Russia comments amid war with Ukraine. After being banned, Karjakin, who represented Ukraine before adopting Russian citizenship in 2009, said, "First...I am a patriot of my country and only second of all I am an athlete.
