Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) found that Western intelligence services were involved with major IT corporations to tap phones of high-ranking Russian officials. "[They] resolved that it would be cheaper and simpler for them to hack cellular phones than recruit costly informants with access to state secrets," FSB said. Officials tapped were later blacklisted in US and EU, it added.
