Russian President Vladimir Putin's critic and leader Alexei Navalny has died in jail, the prison service of the Yamalo-Nenets region where he had been serving his sentence said. In the past, Navalny had complained of being poisoned, assaulted and deprived of proper medical care in the jail. Navalny had been imprisoned since 2021.
