The Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), accused by the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) of carrying out an ambush that killed Italy's ambassador and two other people on Monday, has denied its involvement in the attack. FDLR also condemned the "cowardly assassination". The Hutu rebel group is active in the region where the attack took place.
