Sahara Desert expanded by 10% in last century: Study

The Sahara Desert has expanded by 10% in the past century due to human-induced climate change and natural climate cycles, according to a study by the University of Maryland. It claimed that the desert expanded largely due to rising temperatures and decreased rainfall resulting from climate change. The most notable differences in expansion occurred along Sahara's northern and southern boundaries.
