The Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Friday adopted three bills which provided for 24% hike in salaries, allowances and pensions of MLAs. The cost to the exchequer is estimated at ₹24 crore annually. The bills also mandated the linking of salaries to the Cost Inflation Index for revision after five years, effective from April 1, 2030.
