OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's eye-scanning venture 'World' has launched in US. Altman co-founded it in 2019 to create a global identity verification system for people, using iris scans and blockchain to fight against fraud and bots. An orb scans people's irises, creates a unique user ID, stores that information on blockchain, and uses it as a form of identity verification.
