BJP leader and incumbent Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary has won Tarapur Assembly seat against RJD leader Arun Kumar in 2025 Bihar Assembly polls. He secured 1,22,480 votes, compared to Kumar's 76,637 votes, winning by a margin of 45,843 votes. Choudhary had switched from RJD to JD(U) in 2014 and later joined the BJP in 2017.
