Samsung Electronics appointed Jay Y Lee as the Executive Chairman on Thursday. With this move, South Korea's most-valuable company will be officially run by the third generation of its founding family. Lee, 54, had been the Vice Chairman of the conglomerate since 2012. His father, the late patriarch and Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee died in 2020.
