Samsung Electronics on Tuesday said it has reached a settlement in a class-action lawsuit over 2.8 million "exploding" washing machines recalled in the US. The appliances were recalled in 2016 following reports that its top "can unexpectedly detach from the chassis during use", potentially causing harm. The appliances in question have long been off market, the South Korean company added.
