Samsung will be investing ₹1,000 crore in its existing plant in Tamil Nadu's Sriperumbudur which will create 100 more jobs, the state's Industries Ministry said. The investment will "reinforce" Samsung's faith in the labour force, as workers at the plant protested in the past after employees were suspended. The plant produces compressors used in refrigerators manufactured by Samsung in India.
