The GST Council has allowed sanitary napkins to be exempted from Goods and Services Tax, GST Council member and Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia said after the council's meeting on Saturday. The current GST rate on sanitary napkins is 12%. Following the rollout of GST, several petitions were filed before various High Courts seeking tax exemption for sanitary napkins.
