SS Badrinath, the Founder of Chennai-based charitable eye hospital Sankara Nethralaya, has passed away at 83. Badrinath, the Padma Bhushan awardee who quit active practice a few years ago, was suffering from age-related ailments. PM Narendra Modi mourned his death by posting on X, "His contributions to eye care and his relentless service to society have left an indelible mark."
