Telecom industry body ITU-APT Foundation of India (IAFI) President Bharat Bhatia said auctioning satellite spectrum will hinder growth of rural broadband connectivity in India. "If one operator buys [satellite spectrum], no one else can access and the satellite industry will not grow," Bhatia added. Allocating spectrum administratively rather than via auction is a better option, he further said.
