Ahead of Hajj, Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended issuance of Umrah, business and family visit visas to citizens of 14 countries, including India. The ban was reportedly imposed as many foreigners enter Saudi on these visas and overstay to participate in Hajj without official authorisation. Saudi has also arrested 18,407 people for breaking residency, labour and border security rules.
