SBI asks exporters to trade with Bangladesh in rupee, taka: Report

The State Bank of India (SBI) asked exporters to avoid trading with Bangladesh using the dollar and instead use rupee or taka, Reuters reported. SBI is looking to protect Bangladesh's declining foreign reserves which have fallen from $48 billion a year earlier to $37 billion. Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi had said they want to cut dependency on the dollar.
