SC asks Allahabad HC to act on Lakhimpur judge allegations

The Supreme Court asked the Allahabad High Court chief justice to act expeditiously on allegations that the presiding officer in the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence case transferred several cases to himself and acquitted accused. The court also asked Uttar Pradesh to appoint a new public prosecutor at the earliest for the trial.
