The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) to conduct all local body elections by January 31, 2026 and finish the ongoing delimitation exercise by October 31, 2025. The apex court also reprimanded the SEC for not complying with its order in May when it directed it to conduct local body polls within four months.
