The Supreme Court has allowed authorities to take action against end-of-life vehicles falling below BS-IV emission standards in Delhi-NCR. A 15-year-old petrol-run vehicle and 10-year-old diesel vehicle are likely to have a BS-III (Bharat Stage 3) engine. Notably, the court, in its August 12 directive, had extended protection from coercive action to all end-of-life vehicles in the region.
