The Supreme Court Monday fixed the period of suspension of delinquent government employees at 90 days, within which the proceedings against the person should be completed. Due to the prolonged period of suspension, employees have to suffer ignominy and scorn of society, and endure the excruciation even before they are formally charged with some offence, the court said.
