The Supreme Court acquitted six murder accused after 71 of 84 witnesses, including the victim's son, retracted their statements. SC set aside Karnataka HC's 2023 order, which rejected a trial court order and convicted the accused. "With a heavy heart...but with absolutely no misgivings...we acquit the accused...We cannot but say the High Court...egregiously erred in convicting accused," SC said.
