Former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju on Friday said the Supreme Court had "grievously erred by law" in the Soumya rape case where death sentence of the accused was commuted to a seven-year jail term. The twenty-three-year-old had died in 2011 after the convict Govindachamy pushed her off a train, and then jumped from the train and raped her.
