SC issues notice to EC on plea by Rahul over SIR, voter deletions

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notice to Election Commission (EC) and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on a batch of petitions filed by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders challenging voter deletions and alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. This comes amid a series of protests against Gyanesh.
