Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram asked the Supreme Court to end "daily abuse of the law" after a Delhi trial court discharged Sharjeel Imam and 10 others in the 2019 Jamia Nagar violence case. The trial court said that the accused who were arrested were made "scapegoats". "An inept police...over-zealous prosecutors...responsible for keeping citizens in jail before trial," Chidambaram said.
