Supreme Court Registrar has written to Delhi Transport Commissioner requesting a specific registration number for a new Mercedes-Benz E220 bought by former Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud. The letter dated July 28 requested for the registration to be done "expeditiously". A picture of the "CJI 0001" number plate of another Mercedes owned by Chandrachud had previously gone viral.
