The Supreme Court has directed the CBI to take over the investigation into the custodial death of a man who allegedly died in police custody, while remarking that the State police is shielding their own fellow policemen. The mother and aunt of the deceased alleged custodial torture and sought the transfer of the investigation to an independent agency.
