The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to appoint a nodal officer to facilitate DNA testing of the mortal remains of 20 Indians awaiting repatriation from Russia after they reportedly died while serving in the Russian Army. The tests will help identify the victims by matching DNA from the remains with samples from their biological family members.
