The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Election Commission to publish the names of around 1.25 crore people against whom “logical discrepancy” objections have been raised amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in West Bengal. The apex court noted that the exercise has caused stress among people. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) welcomed the court’s decision.
