The Supreme Court refused to adjourn hearings on the plea challenging the 2023 law removing the CJI from the Election Commissioners' selection panel. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had sought time, saying he's busy with the nine-judge bench Sabarimala case. Justice Dipankar Datta emphasised that all matters are important and said, "This matter is more important than any other matter."
