Supreme Court rejected a plea by ex-IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who is serving life imprisonment in connection with a custodial death case, for bail and suspension of his sentence. However, the court directed that the hearing of his appeal challenging his conviction be expedited. The custody death case against him dates back to 1990 when he was Jamnagar's additional SP.
