The Supreme Court has sought a response from Uttarakhand authorities on a contempt plea against them over the demolition of a 1982 waqf-registered dargah in Dehradun. The plea alleged the demolition was in contravention of the court's April 17 order which said that no waqf "shall be de-notified, nor will their character or status be changed" until the next hearing.
