The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the trial against Ashoka University professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad over a social media post on Operation Sindoor. The court directed the trial court not to take cognisance of the chargesheet filed against him in one of the FIRs. The court also quashed an FIR under which the police had filed a closure report.
