SC to examine acquittal of 22 in Sohrabuddin case

The Supreme Court agreed to examine an appeal against the Bombay High Court's acquittal of 22 accused, including 21 policemen, in the 2005 Sohrabuddin Shaikh encounter case. CJI Surya Kant called 92 witnesses turning hostile a "serious matter." The court dismissed a separate plea challenging Amit Shah's earlier discharge. The next hearing is scheduled for October 28.
