TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee has approached the Supreme Court after the Calcutta High Court denied him immediate permission to travel abroad for eye treatment. He challenged the order directing him to first consult a medical board at Kolkata's state-run SSKM Hospital. The Supreme Court is likely to hear the plea on August 3.
