Supreme Court allowed Adani Power Rajasthan Limited (APRL) to claim compensation from Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JVVN) after Coal India imposed a ₹50/tonne additional levy on coal in 2017, increasing APRL's operational costs. APRL and JVVN's 2010 agreement stated that JVVN would compensate APRL if there's an increase in operational costs. SC ordered JVVN to pay ₹186 crore to APRL.
