SC urges Speaker to expedite TMC rebels' disqualification

The Supreme Court urged Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to expeditiously decide on disqualification pleas against 20 rebel TMC MPs who joined NCPI. CJI Surya Kant said the matter demands early adjudication. The plea was filed by TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. The court adjourned the matter after rebels sought four weeks to file their reply.
