SC withholds BMC chief's salary over Borivali encroachment

The Supreme Court withheld BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide's November salary and issued a show-cause notice for contempt after she failed to remove encroachments from a Borivali BEST bus station plot. The court also fined BMC ₹5 lakh. Subsequently, BMC cleared 27 commercial structures from the 3,400 sq. metre plot in Borivali East.
