All schools and junior colleges in Maharashtra's Mumbai, Thane and Konkan region would remain closed on Thursday in view of the heavy rainfall warning by the India Meteorological Department, state's Minister of School Education Ashish Shelar announced. He added that the decision to keep schools open in other parts would be taken by their District Collectors based on local conditions.
